THE BROOKLYN FOUR

THE FOUNDING OF ALPHA KAPPA PSI

The story of Alpha Kappa Psi begins at New York University. In the fall of 1902 George L. Bergen, Nathan Lane Jr, Frederic R. Leach, and Howard M. Jefferson met each night after class to walk to City Hall and then across the Brooklyn Bridge to their homes. These eager students, known today as the Brooklyn Four, founded Alpha Kappa Psi Fraternity on October 5, 1904. Since its founding Alpha Kappa Psi has helped develop leaders such as U.S. President Ronald Reagan, Co-Founder of Reddit Alexis Ohanian, and Founder of Walmart Sam Walton. Today, Alpha Kappa Psi is recognized as the oldest and largest professional business fraternity with over 298,000 lifetime members coming from 268 chapters worldwide.

THE HISTORY OF PSI EPSILON

In the fall of 2011, a group of friends was looking to get involved on campus. Unable to find an organization that satisfied what they were looking for, they decided to start their own. A petition was created to start an Alpha Kappa Psi chapter, and on April 22nd, 2012, the Psi Epsilon chapter was officially installed at Loyola Marymount University. The founding brothers consisted of 40 driven men and women who accomplished something special together. Since its installation, our chapter has initiated over 250 brothers with an endless list of amazing accomplishments. Our chapter continues to look towards the future and provide its brothers with skills and resources to navigate the dynamic professional world.
